The National Trust are pleased to see that St Patrick's Church, Braddon has, as of the 1st of December, been again Provisionally Listed to the ACT Heritage Register. We continue to support this nomination and would like to see it progress to full listing under the Heritage Act 2004.

On September 15th St Patrick's Church, Braddon was taken off the ACT Heritage Register due to a technicality in the listing process. The decision was reached as the result of an appeal lodged with the ACT Civil & Administrative Tribunal by the Catholic Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn.

Northern Centenary Border Walks

Heritage Tour Launched

The Northern Centerary Border Walks brochure was launched by former ACT Chief Minister Jon Stanhope at our AGM on the 19th of October. The project was assisted through funding made availble by the ACT Government under the ACT Heritage Grants Program.

The brochure consists of 6 walks around parts of the ACT border which not only offer stunning views of the surrounding landscape but also offers insightful information about the creation of the Federal Capital such as why it is shaped the way it is, who surveyed the land and the problems that occured along the way.

The brochure is available online by clicking here or in hard copy at the National Trust Office located in Civic. Feel free to come in and take one and check out the many other free self-guided tours we have on offer.
